VACANCY FOR DIVISIONAL ORGANISER POSITION – SOUTHERN DIVISION
Mandate Trade Union has a vacancy for a Divisional Organiser located in our Southern Division which is operated from our Cork office. The Divisional Organiser is a senior position within the union, with overall responsibility for the operation of the division to which they are appointed. There is also a requirement to provide cross divisional support with other divisions within the union and to engage on national projects/teams under the direction of the Assistant General Secretary/National Coordinator as the need arises.
The role and responsibilities require demonstrable proficiency in the following key areas:
- Ability to effectively organise both current and prospective members
- Recruitment of workers into the union
- Individual and collective grievance handling at local, national, and third-party level
- Collective bargaining/negotiating skills
- Campaigning on workplace and social issues
- Leadership/Team building
The successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate a proven track record in the Trade Union movement in addition to a strong sense of social justice.
A full clean driving licence is also essential.
