Re: McCauley Pay Rise Announced
On cue and as could be predicted the company CEO, Tony McEntee, responded quickly yesterday evening by sending a message to all stores announcing a 2% pay rise from the 30th of September, and a further 2% pay rise in October of 2020.
While a pay rise is to be welcome, we all know that it falls far short of addressing the priority issues that we’ve raised to company management as a union.
McCauleys, like many other companies, make concessions like these in an attempt to divert us from moving our priorities as a union forward both now and in the future.
If anything, this action by the company should empower us to know that as a union we already are having an immediate impact.
Let’s continue to move forward, stay united and reach out to other McCauley workers and encourage them to join with us.
