7th November 2019
To: All Mandate Members – Boots
From: Gerry Light, Assistant General Secretary
As you may be aware over the past few months Mandate have been in discussions with Boots regarding the Dispenser’s grade.
It was clearly identified through surveys and consultation with members employed as dispensers, that there is a diverse range of individual pay rates for the grade with no pay scale and a lack of clarity on pay progression.
At our last meeting with the company in October, your union representatives lodged a claim to the Company seeking a 5-point pay scale for dispensers which aims to provide greater fairness and clarity in future. This claim is still under consideration and negotiation with company management. We will keep members informed of developments as soon as they occur.
Please note that we have just been advised that the discretionary increase which many dispensers normally receive in November has now been postponed in the interim, while management consider your union’s claim regarding the pay scale.
If you or any dispensers have queries please do not hesitate to get in touch with Mandate. Make sure to encourage all Boots dispensers in your store who are not yet members of Mandate to join.
