One Struggle: Achieving Decent Work at Home & Abroad

Irish Premiere of Working Class Heroes

View the Irish premiere of Working Class Heroes, a new documentary that uncovers the struggles of trade unions in Indonesia and Colombia in their fight for social justice. This will be followed by a panel discussion that will focus on parallels with workers in the developed world, epsecially here at home where the growth of precarious work and the absence of a right to collective bargaining pose significant challenges for unions. The panel discussion will feature:

  • Nora Owen, Chairperson of Irish Aid Expert Advisory Group;
  • Ethel Buckley, National Campaigns & Equality Organiser, SIPTU;
  • Esther Lynch, Legislative and Social Affairs Officer, Irish Congress of Trade Unions

The event will be chaired by John O’Brien, Chair of Congress Global Solidarity Committee.

There is no charge, but those wishing to attend the event are advised to book in advance as places are limited.
