Mandate Trade Union to Launch Report – Decent Work?: The Impact of the Recession on Low Paid Workers

The event is being held in the Georgian Room, Buswells Hotel. It will begin at 12:00 noon on Thursday, 24th of May and will end at 1.00pm. No registration needed.

The launch will focus on unveiling research that was conducted by Behaviours & Attitudes into the impact of the recession on retail workers. The research data will show how retail workers have been affected in relation to their hours of work and their incomes. It will also reveal how the recession has impacted on so many aspects of ordinary people’s lives.

Speakers at the event will include Mandate’s General Secretary, John Douglas, and Research and Policy Analyst, Camille Loftus. Camille Loftus will present an analysis of the Behaviour & Attitudes research and will set out some key recommendations for policy action by Government that may help to address the position of low paid workers in the Irish economy.

Following John Douglas’s and Camille Loftus’s inputs, there will be a Q&A session.
