Call to Action: Moment of Reflection for Peace in Palestine

Tuesday 27 May 2025

Over the last eighteen months, as a result of Israel’s brutal assault on Gaza, more than 15,000 children have died and 34,000 been injured.

Wednesday, June 4th marks International UN Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, and that day, the Irish Congress of Trade Unions is inviting all workers, as well as their families, colleagues, neighbours and employers, to take a moment and remember those victims.

With a call to action at 1.05pm, where possible workers will stand together for a moment’s reflection in their workplace, as a simple act of solidarity and remembrance.

This is not a work stoppage, but we do ask that employers support this simple initiative.

The tone will be respectful and solemn, in response to requests for so many members for a national moment of communal grief at the loss of life and the violations of international law.
