Mandate appoint Lorraine O’Brien as new General Secretary
Wednesday 4 December 2024Mandate National Executive Council on 30 November 2024 appointed Lorraine O Brien as Mandate’s new General Secretary effective immediately. This appointment marks a milestone for Mandate with Lorraine being the first female General Secretary of our proud union.
I am sure you will join with me in sending best wishes to Lorraine in her new position. Our new General Secretary has many years’ experience working in the retail sector prior to joining Mandate Trade Union. Lorraine previously worked as Divisional Organiser in the Southern Division, National Co-ordinator, Interim Assistant General Secretary and Interim General Secretary prior to this appointment.
Lorraine looks forward to working closely with her colleagues, activists and members to advance the interests of retail, bar and administrative workers and their families.
