Mandate Youth are hosting a discussion on the housing crisis and how it impacts young workers on Sunday, 1st May 2022 at 11:30am (registration at 11:15am) in Mandate Head Office, O’Lehane House, 9 Cavendish Row, Dublin 1.
The event will include speakers from CATU – the Community and Tenants Union and Macdara Doyle from the Irish Congress of Trade Unions and the Raise the Roof campaign.
All Mandate members are invited to attend and all young members in particular are encouraged to attend.
Alex Homits, Mandate Youth Chairperson said:
“The housing crisis is having a very negative impact on the living standards and mental health of young workers all across the country. Many young Mandate members cannot afford a place of their own and are stuck living with their parents for the foreseeable future. Others are cramped in overcrowded accommodation or paying exorbitant rents which pushes them into poverty or deprivation.”
He added, “This is not sustainable and in Mandate Youth we want to empower young workers to understand this crisis and take action to solve it.”
Mandate Youth will host this event on May Day and attendees are encouraged to march with a Mandate delegation on the May Day parade at 1:30pm.
We ask that all attendees please register by emailing.
