Marks & Spencer strike deferred after Labour Court intervention

Wednesday 11 December 2013

Tomorrow’s (Thursday, 12th December) one day strike at Marks & Spencer is being deferred after intervention from the Labour Court.

Mandate trade union, which represents 2,300 workers at the company, said last minute negotiations at the Labour Relations Commission (LRC) today did not bring about a resolution to the dispute so both parties will now attend an emergency Labour Court hearing on Friday, 13th December.

Mandate will attend the emergency Labour Court hearing in an effort to resolve all of the issues in dispute and avoid the third planned day of action on Friday 20th December.
