Update for Mandate members in Argos

Mandate Trade Union and Argos are due to attend the Labour Relations Commission (LRC) in the coming weeks in order to discuss changes to your terms and conditions of employment

Your union, Mandate, is currently seeking a 3% pay increase for all workers in Argos which your union believes is appropriate to cover increases in the cost of living.

Your elected representatives are also seeking a certainty of earnings/ hours clause which would guarantee a minimum level of income for workers in Argos. This will help workers to plan their lives and manage their personal finances better – particularly in these challenging times.

However, the company is seeking a reduction in some of your terms of employment. This includes a reduction in the Sunday premium, public holidays to be paid at a reduced rate, removal of the Christmas bonus and a reduction in the out of hours window, among other concessions.

The company has tabled a 0.92% pay increase effective for two years for all of these concessions. They have also offered a minimum 5 hour contract to be introduced. Mandate will keep you informed of any outcomes from the Labour Relations Commission.
