WORKERS DECIDE TO END LA SENZA SIT-IN AFTER MANDATE TRADE UNION RECEIVES LETTER FROM KPMG

Friday 13 January 2012

The Mandate Trade Union has this evening announced that the La Senza workers have decided to end the sit-in at the company’s Liffey Valley store.

“At 4.30 this evening Mandate received a letter from La Senza’s administrators KPMG. At a meeting after 5pm, the contents of this letter were communicated to the La Senza workers and they were satisfied with what KPMG had to say and then decided to end their sit-in,” Mandate’s Divisional Organiser, Michael Meegan said.

Mr Meegan said that the situation at La Senza shows in a very clear way how important it is for workers to join a union and work together to achieve a just outcome for themselves and their families.
