MANDATE OFFER POSITIVE RETAIL STORY WITH TRAINING FOR MEMBERS IN DONEGAL

Despite all the negative economic and employment stories emanating across the country, a positive news story is emerging from Donegal as Mandate trade union rolls out a progressive union strategy for the education of its members.

There has been massive investment by Mandate, in partnership with FAS, in the up-skilling of Mandate members employed in the retail and bar sectors. Over 200,000 people are employed in retail sector making it the largest employment sector in the country outside of the civil service. Mandate is the union of first choice for retail workers representing in excess of 50,000 retail workers in the Republic of Ireland.
Mandate feels that by training and up-skilling their members, it will provide them with a valuable advantage in the work place. It will also help these members to maintain and improve their employment prospects now and into the future. The union sees this as vital in the current economic circumstances a
