Re: Update on next steps
As you are aware we have been conducting the members’ priorities survey in McCauleys since late June. The response rate to the survey has been very high which is encouraging.
We are in the process of organising a general Union meeting to be held in early to mid-September for the purpose of reviewing the results of the survey and to jointly agree a course of action to pursue those priorities with the Company. We are asking members in each McCauley’s location to put forward one or two members to represent their store at this meeting. We will be following up with members directly in each location to finalise the details.
Soon after this meeting we will communicate the results of the survey and the proposed course of action to all members which may involve follow on meetings in each location.

More secure working hours – banded hours legislation
Several members in McCauleys have been successful in their requests to improve the hours in their contracts of employment through the new banded hours legislation. This has been in instances where the hours in their contracts of employment did not reflect their actual working hours.
