Budget Alternatives: Tax Justice and Employment

Friday 28 June 2013

On: Saturday 13th July

At: 11am to 3.30pm

In: Hogan Mezzanine Suite, Croke Park Conference Centre, Dublin

What are the credible alternatives to austerity and spending cuts? Come along to discuss and share ideas about tax justice and employment creation. Take the time to find out about campaigns on these issues and, maybe, get involved.

Register here now.

The impact of spending cuts are being severely felt by people on lower incomes and in poverty, relying on the public health system, who require special needs supports, who have lost their jobs, in mortgage arrears, and affected by pay cuts and rising cost of living. Further significant cuts are planned for the October budget.

There are alternatives. Taxes on wealth could be raised. Tax loopholes could be closed such as corporate taxes or pension reliefs. Employment could be created.

This event will look at campaigns and actions being undertaken to challenge spending cuts and advance alternatives and how public support for these can be built.

If you are just interested or you are already involved in actions to promote alternatives this event is for you. You will get information and resources and a chance to talk through new ideas and new ways to challenge current policies.
