Tell Walmart to Keep its Word

Tuesday 01 September 2015, 04pm

Walmart is cutting hours for countless hardworking men and women at stores across the country. Mandate Trade Union members know exactly what the impacts of cuts to hours are like, especially from our experience in the Decency for Dunnes Workers Campaign.

Can you sign this petition to tell Walmart CEO Doug McMillon to give workers the hours they need to support their families?

Last year, Making Change at Walmart, Walmart workers, and countless of other groups, stood up and fought for the right of all Walmart workers to speak out about issues like wages and hours. Under public pressure our supporters helped lead, Walmart announced that it would raise its minimum wage to $9 an hour.

But in typical Walmart fashion, the company has started cutting hours, leaving workers struggling to cover bills on too few hours and low pay. A company with $16B in annual profit, owned by the richest family in America, can afford to provide workers with the hours and wages they need to get by.

Can you sign our petition telling Walmart it’s time to give workers access to consistent, full-time schedules?

Thanks for your support.
