RE:      NOMINATION OF FORUM REPRESENTATIVE

Dear member,

Further to the national Shop Stewards meeting, on the 30th January 2012 in Mandate Head Office, a decision was taken by all the Shop Stewards to actively participate in the upcoming Forum nomination process in Boots.

The process began on the 6th February 2012 and will continue until the 20th February. The voting and nomination process will be open to all staff.

All our Shop Stewards/Activists have made a commitment to take part in this process, but will not get nominated or elected without your support. The Union will provide support materials if needed, nonetheless we need all the workers, whether members or not to ensure they are to the Local Store Forum Committee.

Your Shop Steward is seeking the support of their colleagues to become a voice and serve the interests of every worker in Boots. They have attended Mandate courses, which specialised in communication and representation skills, which can be used within the Forum process. Your representatives have experience engaging with the local management on employee relation issues and the trading environment we are currently operating in.

We are committed to ensuring that all elected Shop Stewards are fully trained by providing Boots Forum Specific Training, a process we already provide in other companies. This purely voluntary role, their only aim is to ensure your best interests are represented in the forum process. We urge you to support your local shop steward and urge your colleagues to do likewise.

The voting process will be carried out via an intranet site in each store. The company have assures us that all colleagues will have unhindered access to the process and we urge you to use this opportunity to ensure voice heard at the forum process

Yours sincerely,
